Evens dedicated to the International Children’s Day

Events dedicated to the International Children’s Day and organized by RPA Women’s Council have finished. At the course of a week at territorial organizations various educational, cultural and social events were held. More than 1500 pupils from 60 Yerevan schools, visited several cultural organizations, including the National Gallery of Armenia, History Museum of Armenia, Yerevan History Museum, Literature and Art Museum named after Eghishe Charents and Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum. At the National Gallery of Armenia and the History Museum of Armenia children got familiarized with exhibits of the world art, as well as with our historical and cultural values, at Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum – with life and activity of the great Armenian poet H. Tumanyan. At Literature and Art Museum named after Eghishe Charents the children were met by Anahit Charents, the daughter of Charents, who told memories about the Armenian writer.
Pupils left the museums with great enthusiasm and expressed wish to visit those cultural institutions once more.
Another traditional event is a visit of children from frontier villages to Memorial Complex of Sardarapat Battle. The aim of the visit is to seed patriotism among the new generation, represent the museum and materials dedicated to the Sardarapat Battle. More than 200 children from Gegharkunik, Shirak, Kotayk and Ararat regions participated in the event.
RPA Women’s Council would like to express gratitude to the Heads and staff of all cultural and educational organizations who participated in the project, for supporting the imitative, as well as to the territorial organizations of Yerevan, Educational Department of Yerevan Municipality, RPA regional organizations of Shirak, Gegharkunik, Kotayk and Ararat for co-operation.
