On May 17, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings and by voting passed the bills debated on the previous day, among them also the RA Draft Electoral Code debated in the second reading with enclosed legislative package.

Afterwards the parliament considered the report on the Activities of the National Commission on Television and Radio for 2015, which presented the Deputy Chairman of the RA National Commission on Television and Radio Zhirayr Dadasyan.

The key speaker were addressed numerous questions, which related to the quality, the direction of the TV and Radio programmes, the preservation of the language purity, the content of the programmes, the character of the programmes designed for the children and youngsters, the permissibility of the advertisement of gambling games, and other questions.

The Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Artak Davtyan submitted the view of the Head Committee. He noted that the report had been debated at the visiting meeting of the Committee and was acknowledged as an information according to the RA law NA Rules of Procedure.

The NA deputies Tevan Poghosyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Tigran Urikhanyan, Heghine Bisharyan delivered speeches on the report.

Afterwards the deputies debated the Annual Report of the RA Control Chamber for 2015, which presented the Chairman of the Control Chamber (CC) Ishkhan Zakaryan.

Ishkhan Zakaryan also answered the deputies’ questions.

The debate of the issue will continue at May 18 NA sitting.

The last hour of the sittings, according to the Rules of Procedure, was allotted to the deputies’ announcements.
