VIETNAM’S NEWLY-APPOINTED AMBASSADOR TO ARMENIA PRESENTS HIS CREDENTIALS TO PRESIDENT

Nguyen Thanh Son, the newly-appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Armenia (residence in Moscow), handed over today his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.
Armenia’s president congratulated the ambassador on starting his diplomatic tenure in our country and wished him success. Serzh Sargsyan and Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Son discussed issues pertaining to the prospects of Armenian-Vietnamese relations and in that context, attached importance to active high-level political dialogue, frequent reciprocal visits, and to the promotion of collaboration at inter-parliamentary and inter-governmental levels.
The president warmly recalled his official visit to Vietnam in 2012 and the agreements made during his meetings with the country’s top officials which are aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation between Armenia and Vietnam.
Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Son thanked the president for the congratulation and best wishes, noting that the opening of the Armenian diplomatic mission in Hanoi is yet another testimony of the readiness of the friendly country of Armenia to develop bilateral relations. He assured the president that his country is keen on giving fresh impetus to bilateral relations and that as an ambassador, he will try his best to enhance ties between Vietnam and Armenia. Nguyen Thanh Son mentioned that it is with pleasure that he recalls his student years in Yerevan and the wonderful memories of those times about the hospitable and diligent Armenian people.
