Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the member of the City Council of Glendale (USA) Eileen Givens

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan received the member of the Glendale (USA), the former Mayor of Glendale Eileen Givens. Greeting the guest, Taron Margaryan expressed gratitude for visiting Yerevan and for the intention to render the tribute to the memory of innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide on April 24 together with Armenian people.
“This year is special for the Armenians worldwide as the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is marked. We sincerely grateful to all those who is side by side with us today paying the tribute to the memory of the 1.5 million innocent victims”, stressed the Mayor.
Taron Margaryan also expressed gratitude to the City Council of Glendale for permanent support and attention to the Armenian community.
Having thanked for warm welcome Eileen Givens in her turn stressed the particular significance of the activity of the Armenian community which plays an important role in Glendale development.
“80% of Glendale, the population of which is 800 thousand, are Armenians, and I have to admit that they play their important role in the development of the city. These days the Armenian community is organizing numerous events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The City Council of Glendale with great responsibility adopted the declaration on announcing April 2015 the month of commemoration of the victims of the Armenian Genocide”, said Eileen Givens.
At the end of the meeting the member of the City Council, the former Mayor of Glendale Eileen Givens handed Taron Margaryan the mentioned-above Declaration adopted by the City Council of Glendale.
