A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Yerevan and Ghazvin

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the official delegation headed by the Mayor of Ghazvin, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masud Nosrati who is in Yerevan with the aim of participation in “Erebini-Yerevan 2796” celebration. Greeting the guests the Mayor thanked them for accepting the invitation to take part in the celebration and attaching particular importance to the centuries-old friendship and the present high level of cooperation between Armenia and Iran, stressed that the relationship between Yerevan and the partner cities of Iran is friendly and the interaction between the bodies of self-government is effective. In this context the Mayor attached importance to the cooperation established with Isfahan, Tehran, Tabriz and Shiraz. “The bilateral visits taken place within the recent years evidence that there is a wide field for cooperation between the cities of the two countries, and within our powers we should expand the cooperation for the sake of the welfare of the population of our cities. I am sure that defining the frames of the cooperation and signing the Memorandum we will make it possible to implement mutually beneficial programs with Ghazvin. It should be noted that the bilateral interaction between the two peoples are very important from the point of view of getting acquainted with one another, with national traditions and culture”, sad Taron Margaryan.
Expressing gratitude for warm reception and congratulating his Yerevan colleague on the day of the city Masud Nosrat presented in brief the history of Ghazvin and the priorities of its management and assured that he will do his best to strengthen the ties between Yerevan and Ghazvin, to put on practical base the joint programs provided for by the Memorandum to be signed. “Bilateral cooperation is very important especially in some spheres of urban economy concerning finding solutions to similar problems particularly from the point of view of experience exchange. As for me, Mister Mayor, it’s very nice to be in Yerevan and celebrate the festival of ancient Yerevan together with you:, said Masud Nosrat.
Within the scope of the meeting Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and Ghazvin Mayor Masud Nosrat signed the Memorandum of Understanding according to which the parties are obliged to strengthen and develop the friendly relations between Yerevan and Ghazvin. The cooperation is to be developed in various spheres of urban economy.
