National Assembly Ends the Work of the Four-Day Sittings

On October 2 the parliament continued the work of the four-day sittings.
Before passing to the debate of the item interrupted in the previous sitting, the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan has noted that within the framework of the “Open Doors” programme the students and the lecturers of the YSU Faculty of Journalism have visited the parliament and were observing the work of the NA sitting. Mr Sahakyan congratulated the professors and lecturers, graduates and students of the faculty on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Journalism and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty, wishing them success in work and in education.
The deputies continued debating the report of the Public Television Company Council on the Activity of the Public Television and Radio Company for 2013 and presented their views. Tevan Poghosyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Artak Zakaryan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Artsvik Minasyan, Aram Manukyan submitted their considerations on the matter of the debate.
The Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Artak Davtyan in his final speech thanked the parliament for the debates of high concern and touched upon the voiced recommendations and observations.
The RA NS Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov has noted that the report is accepted for information.
The RA Human Rights Defender Karen Andriasyan has presented the annual report “On the RA Human Rights Defender’s Activity and Violation of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in the country during 2013.”
The debate of the report will continue at the next four-day sittings.
