A monument to the laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, People's Artist Avag Petrosyan has been opened in the capital

Yerevan Mayor Taron Maargaryan was present at the ceremony of unveiling the monument to the laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, People's Artist Avag Petrosyan. The monument has been placed at the junction of Syat Nova avenue and Avag Petrosyan street. The members of Avag Petrosyan's family, art figures and townspeople were present at the ceremony too. The honour of unveiling the monument made by the project of architect Levon Galumyan by sculptor Tigran Arzumanyan was given to Mayor Taron Margaryan and to the Avag Petrosyan's son,Ara Petrosyan. Expressing gratitude for support to Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan those present said that the monument will remind them of the man whose art had always made Armenian people feel proud.
