On May 6 the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan received Mohammad Reisi, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to RA.

The Ambassador congratulated Galust Sahakyan on the occasion of being elected NA Speaker and conveyed the warm greetings, congratulation of the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani and reaffirmed Larijani’s invitation of paying official visit to Iran. He expressed confidence that the NA Speaker’s official visit to the IRI would boost the deepening of inter-parliamentary relations. The Ambassador highlighted the further development of bilateral relations in all spheres and the implementation of predetermined joint programs.

The NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan has noted with satisfaction that Armenia-Iran relations are at high level and the bilateral cooperation continues to develop in the atmosphere of mutual trust. Mr Sahakyan highly assessed the current level of the inter-parliamentary relations and further development. According to the NA Speaker, the Armenian side highlights the implementation of the bilateral economic projects in the scheduled terms, which will give opportunity to raise the bilateral economic relations to a new qualitative degree.

In the course of the meeting the sides also discussed other issues of bilateral interest.
