On April 23 the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport was convened moderated by Artak Davtyan.

The RA Acting Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan introduced the package of bills “On Amending the RA Law on Higher Education and Post-Graduate Specialized Education” and “On Amending the RA Law on Education.”

The Committee endorsed the package of debated bills for including them in the agendas of the session and the four-day sittings.

The adoption of the RA Law “On Theatre and Theatrical Activity” authored by the RA Government and deputies Heghine Bisharyan, Mher Shahgeldyan, Hovhannes Margaryan, Ishkhan Khachatryan is conditioned by the definition of the legal bases of the theatre and theatrical activity and the ways and means of showing state support to the theatres, the rights and obligations of the theatre.

The state theatres, being non-commercial organizations, regulate their organizational-legal relations by the provisions of the RA law “On State Non-Commercial Organizations.” The bill will be included in the agenda of the session with the endorsement of the Committee.

Gagik Buniatyan, Chairman of the National Commission on Television and National Radio (NCTR), presented the report on the Activity of the Commission for 2013.

According to the reporter, the Commission has received and studied the data of the registration books of the TV and radio companies, has not registered violations on the requirements of the legislation on RA Television and Radio. The Commission has received 731 documents, 13 applications-complaints and has answered them according to the functioning legislative acts.
