On March 18 the delegation led by the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan took part in the works of the third day of the 130th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The Speaker of the National Assembly held bilateral meetings with Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Marzouq Al-Ghanim, Speaker of the National Assembly of the State of Kuwait.

During the meeting with Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council the issues of cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and the UAE were discussed, and both sides underlined the necessity of activating the cooperation.

In the atmosphere of mutual understanding the interlocutors highlighted the peace and stability in the region, the cooperation in the international organisations, the mutual visits, contacts, which could be a stimulus for the more development and strengthening of the inter-parliamentary relations, as well as the inter-state relations.

Hovik Abrahamyan and Mr Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr also deemed important the f.urther development and deepening of the trade and economic ties, touched upon other issues of mutual interest.

The NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan invited Mr Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of the UAE Parliament to pay an official visit to Armenia: the invitation was gladly accepted.

At the meeting of the RA NA Speaker Abrahamyan and Marzouq Al-Ghanim, Speaker of the National Assembly of the State of Kuwait issues of developing parliamentary relations, cooperation within international organisations and a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed.

The sides have documented with satisfaction steady progress in the relations between Armenia and the State of Kuwait, ties between the two governments and parliaments, as well as in economic cooperation, at the same time noting that there is big potential of development for cooperation. The heads of the parliaments of the two countries considered important the need of deepening of inter-parliamentary relations, the role of parliamentary diplomacy and the cooperation in the international parliamentary structures.

Marzouq Al-Ghanim, Speaker of the National Assembly of the State of Kuwait invited Hovik Abrahamyan to pay official visit to Kuwait.
