Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Armenia Priit Turk. Greeting the guest Taron Margaryan presented in brief the system of Yerevan management and its priorities and noted that today serious steps are taken by Yerevan development programs in various spheres.
"In the issue of effective management of the capital we attach importance to the international experience exchange, From this point of view it is certainly very important to stimulate effective cooperation with partner cities. Year by year Yerevan expands the frames of cooperation and in this regard, Mister Ambassador, we expect your active support in establishment of bilateral partnership both between Yerevan and Tallinn and with other cities of Estonia”, stressed Taron Margaryan adding that currently there are wide possibilities and perspectives for cooperation in experience exchange both in the sphere of local self-government and in various spheres of urban economy.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome Priit Turk said that he would do his best within his powers to promote establishment of partner relations between Yerevan and the cities of Estonia.
"The problems of cities are similar and I agree with you, Mister Mayor, that the solution of those problems becomes easier when we develop cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest. And I assure you that I will do my best within my powers in the direction of establishment and development of partnership between the cities of the two countries and in the nearest future we will discuss the perspectives of implementation of concrete projects", said the Ambassador.
Within the scope of the visit the Mayor of Yerevan attached special importance to the implementation of investment projects with the partner cities. Taron Margaryan once again stressed that the Municipality of Yerevan is open and willing to establish mutually beneficial partnership and suggested forming a working group jointly with the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Municipality staff and work out a comprehensive plan of cooperation.
