PM Receives Newly Appointed Italian Ambassador

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received today the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Armenia Giovanni Ricciulli.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him an effective work in our country. Tigran Sargsyan noted that the Armenian - Italian bilateral friendly relations are based on centuries-long rich historical and cultural relations, and expressed hope that the Ambassador would give new impetus to them with his activities.
Ambassador Ricciulli thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception, assuring that during his tenure he would do everything to deepen and strengthen the bilateral relations in various fields and directions.
The parties discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation, as well as prospects of cooperation within the framework of the European Union. The Head of Government praised the EU’s technical and financial assistance in the reform process in our country. He stressed that Armenia is interested in the expansion of relations with the EU and expects Italy’s support on this issue.
The sides stressed the necessity of the full realization of potential in the trade and economic cooperation. In this context, they attached importance to the activation of ties between the Armenian and Italian businessmen and implementation of joint business projects.
