Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was awarded with a special prize of Top Ten Award

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan hosted in the foyer of the City Hall the organizers of the authoritative international award "Top Ten Award" and the guests. The mission of this world-known award is to reveal the best business spheres having precise mechanisms of quality control, which prevail at the market, as well as to promote using of the standards of management system spread worldwide in the organizations.
In his greeting speech addressed to those present Mayor Taron Margaryan particularly emphasized the fact of holding such an authoritative award being held since 2002, in Yerevan.
"The fact of holding such an authoritative award in Yerevan witnesses that our country, particularly, our capital has definite authority and is competitive in the international arena. The developed countries and cities throughout the world strive to correspond their economies and systems of management to the international standard ISO 9001 as it sets the mechanisms and principles of the most effective organization of the activity. Corresponding the system of local self-government to ISO 9001 certification really makes the city more attractive from the point of view of investments. There are such successful examples in American and European capitals. And I am sure that the Yerevan award in its turn will increase the number of successful organizations", stressed Taron Margaryan.
The senior adviser of "Gablesmead" company Neil Stewart in his turn presenting the details of the award expressed gratitude to the Mayor of Yerevan for the reception and warm treatment and noted that it was a honour for the company to hold the award in the City Hall of Yerevan.
About 100 organizations from 35 countries took part in the award held in the City Hall. As a qualification requirement for the award was chosen the correspondence of the participating companies to the requirements of ISO 9001 standards. According to it, as a result of the one-year audit carried out by the expert of "Top Ten Award" in the Municipality of Yerevan regarding meeting the requirements of ISO 9001 standard the Municipality rewarded the highest appreciation.
Expressing gratitude for the appreciation and the prize Mayor Taron Margaryan expressed confidence that this award will become another fine platform for the establishment of new business ties and experience exchange in the sphere of management.
A prize of high appreciation in the sphere of international standardization was also received by the director of the National Institute of Standards, the member of the "Republican Party" faction of the Council of Elders of Yerevan Yenok Azaryan.
