 Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan visited "The House of Hope" of German Red Cross functioning in the administrative district of Kanaker-Zeytun and took part in the opening of the 20th season of "Charity kitchen" program.

The representative of Baden-Wurttemberg regional organization of German Red Cross, priest Carl-Heinz Schaide, as well as the wife of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Armenia were present at the event. About 400 elderly beneficiaries make use of this program of social significance being implemented by co-financing of the Municipality of Yerevan.

Greeting those present Taron Margaryan once again assured that the Municipality is always ready to support within its powers all charity initiatives of important social significance.
"Social projects are among the priorities of the Municipality and we are always ready to show appropriate support. Be sure that we will always be next to you and will try to solve various social problems existing in the capital within the frames of different social projects", stressed Taron Margaryan.
The Mayor also expressed gratitude to the Baden0Wurttemberg regional organization of German Red Cross for the charity projects being implemented in the capital and for this important humanity mission.
The opening of the 20th season of «Charity kitchen» was announced with the symbolic bells ringing.
In his greeting speech the representative of the Baden-Wurttemberg regional organization of German Red Cross, priest Carl-Heinz Schaide thanked Mayor Taron Margaryan for the permanent care and support shown to social programs.
On the whole, 16 charity canteens function in the capital at the present and about 2400 beneficiaries make use of them. Besides, due to joint efforts of the Municipality of Yerevan and German Red Cross the social sub-program "Home care" has been implemented since October 1, within the frames of which 125 beneficiaries in Kentron and Erebuni district are provided with food.
