NA Next Four-Day Sittings Begin

On October 21 the National Assembly began the work of the next four-day sittings.

The Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan said that Armen Karapetyan had been elected NA deputy from electoral district 38. The NA Speaker and the deputies congratulated the newly elected deputy.

The National Assembly debated and approved the draft laws of the agendas and four-day sittings, by voting passed 7 bills debated in the previous sitting and ratified 5 international treaties.

The NA Speaker also informed the attendees that within the framework of the Open Doors programme a group of teachers and pupils of the School N 170 were in the National Assembly and were following the works of the NA sitting. The NA deputies welcomed them.

The NA deputies ended the debate of the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Civil Special Service,” then debated the agreement “On Cooperation of the Participant States of the Commonwealth Independent States in the Struggle against Illegal Preparation of a Gun, Ammunition, Explosive Materials and Explosives and Their goodsturnover” (with enclosed reservation) signed in Chisinau on November 14, 2008.

The RA First Deputy of Territorial Administration Vache Terteryan presented the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Financial Equalisation.”

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Management and Local Self-Government Stepan Margaryan delivered a speech and presented the endorsement of the bill.

The NA deputies also debated the package of the draft laws “On Employment,” “On Amending the RA Code on Administrative Infringements.”

The RA Minister of Social Affairs Artem Asatryan answered the NA deputies’ questions.

The National Assembly will resume the debate of the law “On Employment” at October 22 sitting.
