On September 23 the RA National Assembly President Hovik Abrahamyan received the delegation of the Legal Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Representatives of the People’s Republic of China led by the Vice Chairman Sun Baoshu. The President of the RA Constitutional Court Gagik Harutyunyan was taking part in the meeting.

Welcoming the guests Hovik Abrahamyan has noted that Armenia gives great importance to the deepening of multilateral cooperation with the People’s Republic of China. In his word, the relations of Armenia and China are dynamically developing, and the two states enter to a new qualitative phase of friendly relations. The NA President has noted with satisfaction that political dialogue of high level has been established between the two states, the mutually beneficial cooperation is deepening in the political, economic, scientific-educational, cultural and other spheres. Hovik Abrahamyan has underlined the big role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the development and reinforcement of inner-state relations. To his assessment, the full cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries also promotes the expansion of legal basis, which is the basis of formation and development of relations in different spheres. Touching upon the regional problems the NA President thanked the guests for the balanced position of China in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Thanking for the warm reception the Vice Chairman of the Legal Committee of the National People’s Congress Sun Baoshu has noted that during the 21-year period of diplomatic relations the political ad economic relations of the two countries have effectively developed reaching to a new and highly qualitative cooperation. In his word, under the political reliable cooperation the existing multilateral relations are expanding and developing. He also highlighted the further development and strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations and bilateral contacts.

The RA NA President reaffirmed the invitation to Armenia on an official visit of Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Permanent Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Representatives of the People’s Republic of China.

In the course of the meeting other issues of bilateral interest were discussed.
