Parliament Ends the Work of the Four-Day Sitting

On September 12 the National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sitting and by voting in the first reading passed the bill “On Amending the RA Code on Administrative Infringements.”
Then the deputies continued to debate the issue of the election of the two lawyer-scientists of the RA Justice Council.
Summing up the results of the secret ballot the Chairman of the NA Ad-Hoc Accounting Committee Sukias Avetisyan said that 109 deputies took part in the voting. 92 deputies voted for Gagik Ghazinyan and 16 against him, Grigor Badiryan was elected with 93 deputies for and 14 against, and they were elected.
The RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan thanked and wished the newly elected lawyer-scientists fruitful work.
Then the parliament debated in the second reading for completely passing the bills “On Amending the RA Law on State Statistics,” “On Amending the RA Administrative Proceedings Code,” “On Amending the RA Law on State Registration of the Rights Towards Property,”“On Amending the RA Law on Copyright and Co-Rights,” the legislative packages “On Amending the RA Criminal Proceedings Code” and “On Amending the RA Civil Proceedings Code,” “On Amending the RA Law on Safe Use of Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Purposes,” “On Amending the RA Law on Organization and Holding of Check-Ups in the RA,” “On Amending the RA Law on Higher and Post-Higher Professional Education” and “On Amending the RA Law on Education.” The NA Head committees endorsed the considered issues.
Gagik Buniatyan, Chairman of National Commission on Television and Radio (NCTR) introduced the report on the activity of the Commission for 2012 to the parliament.
The member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Hayk Babukhanyan in his co-speech noted that the Committee had debated the report, and he touched upon a number of problems in the sphere and mentioned that as a result of joint work it would be possible to settle them.
The Chairman of the Public Television Company Council Ruben Jaghinyan presented the report of the Council on the activity of the activity of Public Television Company for 2012.
The debate of the issue will continue in the next four-day sittings.
