RPA Women’s Council organized Museum Day for pupils

As usual the week of Children’s Defense Day started with a museum day. Approximately 1200 pupils from 60 Yerevan schools, accompanied with their teachers and parents, visited the National Gallery of Armenia, History Museum of Armenia, Yerevan History Museum, Yeghishe Charents House-Museum, Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum.
In the National Gallery of Armenia and Yerevan History Museum children got familiarized with the exhibits of the international art, as well as with our historical-cultural values, in Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum – with the biography and activity of the Armenian poet H. Tumanyan. In Yeghishe Charents House-Museum daughter of Yegishe Charents – Anahit Charents met the children, telling them reminiscences about the writer. In Yerevan History Museum children got familiarized with the history of foundation of Yerevan, its plan, examined the antique dolls with 113-year history. Then a game-excursion was organized and pupils answered the guide’s questions. The winners were given a letter of acknowledgment by the municipality.
Chair of the RPA Women’s Council Mrs. Naghdalyan, deputy mayor of Yerevan V. Vardanyan, deputy head of the education department S. Achoyan, MPs, members of the RPA Women’s Council, various guests were present at the event.
The pupils left the museums with great enthusiasm.
The RPA Women’s Council expressed profound gratitude to the heads of the above mentioned museums and schools, Yerevan municipality for support and warm reception.
