The consequences of the heavy rainfalls happened in the capital recently have been eliminated. This was reported to the Mayor of Yerevan during the regular working conference. Mayor Taron Margaryan expressed gratitude to the employees of all the structures and divisions of the Municipality which organized coordinated and operative actions directed at drainage of streets and pavements and restoration of traffic.
The head of the Department of Transport reported that everyday control is going on over the quality of public transport service. Together with young volunteers inspections were carried out in different parts of the capital with the aim of exclusion cases of drivers’ smoking while driving; regarding the revealed faces administrative records were drawn up.
Street marking is going on in the capital. To provide safe movement of pedestrians it was proposed to carry out street marking in the areas adjacent to educational, cultural and health care establishments as well. Current repairing and furniture renewing is going on in the kindergartens subordinated to the Municipality. The head of the Department of General Education reported that within the framework of the program pre-schooling educational establishments are being completed with hard and soft as well as kitchen furniture.
Taron Margaryan instructed to be consistent in the implementation of the programs and go on control over the quality of food catering in kindergartens.
By the proposal of the Mayor the children leaving kindergartens and the children from needy families will be provided with school bags and writing-materials.
Regarding landscaping activities going on in the capital the head of the Department of Nature Protection reported that 8 of the 12 projects of irrigation systems construction had already been finished, activities directed at creation of new lawns and flowering are going in parallel. Certain proposals directed at the creation of forest zones in Yerevan were also presented.
Repairing of the porches and roofs of the blocks of flats is still going on. Simultaneously, special notice-boards provided for advertisements are being placed.
The Department of External Design and Advertising was instructed to organize inspection visits in the capital together with the State language Inspectorate and record all the advertisements contradicting the requirements of the Law on Advertisements and Language and take corresponding steps to correct inconsistency.
It was instructed to inventory the playgrounds, gardens, parks football pitches and sports grounds constructed in the former years and take necessary measures to keep them in order.
Regarding the Last Bell events on May 24 it was reported that all the necessary preparations had already been made. It was also noted that the main event of the day, the concert takes place in Azatutyan square.
The Mayor instructed to present the program of events dedicated to the International Day of Children's Protection on June 1 in the Zoological garden, in «Victory» park, in Azatutyan square as well as in the administrative districts to provide festive atmosphere for children.
