Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan visited the city green-house of Yerevan, got acquainted with the activities directed at landscaping and flowering of the capital.
Presenting the sorts of flowers growing in the green-house and their volumes the head of the Department of Nature Protection reported that this year about 1 million 200 flower seedlings have imported and are growing in the green-house, another 800 thousand flowers have been grown here.
Soon the flower seedlings will be replaced to decorate streets, pavements, lawns and recreation zones in all the administrative districts of the capital. Interesting flower compositions will be created with flowers grown here.
On the whole, the volumes of flowered areas in the capital will increase by 1.5 hectares and due to 2 million 200 thousand flower seedlings the volumes will make up more than 7 hectares.
"In the issue of landscaping and external look decoration it's very important to organize the work properly. It's essential to choose such sorts of flowers which will bloom from early spring till late autumn. It's also important to grow on the spot the flowers which can rapidly and easily adapt to our climatic condditions", said Taron Margaryan.
The head of the Department of Nature Protection also informed that to organize the city-wide tree-planting announced for April 14 properly all the preparations had been performed.
It was also noted that this year about 40 thousand trees and bushed are to be planted only within the scope of spring tree-planting.
