During the regular working conference Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was reported that in the period from January to March in accordance with the fixed schedule in the Municipality and administrative districts 318 and 900 residents participated in citizens’ reception correspondingly. The major part of the issues were given positive solutions.
Regarding parking vehicles in undetermined places including segments of sidewalks or arch passages as well as organization of vehicle sales in inappropriate places the Mayor instructed to set strengthened control.
“Ensuring of order in the capital is our primary obligation and responsibility. In teamwork with corresponding services we should be more strict and consistent and do more within our powers to ensure convenience for our residents», stressed Taron Margaryan.
Referring to the problem of washing the tyres of vehicles getting out of building sites and the problem of pollution of streets by concrete mixer trucks and the vehicles coming to Yerevan from neighbouring marzes the Mayor instructed to strengthen the control and provide cleanness and proper conditions in the areas adjacent to building sites.
Regarding the issue of filling holes going on in the capital it was instructed to carry out inventory and fulfill corresponding activities in possibly short time in case of need.
The head of the Department of Building and Improvement reported that with the aim of re-operation of fountains located in the territory of the capital preparations had been carried out and as soon as the weather conditions are favourable they will be ready for operation.
Concerning the activities of restoration of damaged electricity posts the representative of "Electricity lines of Armenia" company reported that 14 800 posts had been inventoried in the capital 2900 can be changed or restored. 1000 posts are to be changed within the framework of the activities provided for 2013.
The head of the Legal Department reported that in accordance with the Mayor's instruction, a draft law of the RA Government is being prepared with the aim of regulation of the problem of electric cables. It was also reported that power supply substations and gas-distributing stations which need improving had been inventoried. And the improvement activities are to be started soon.
Regarding preparations for proper organization of the citywide clean-ups announced for March 23 and 24 the Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan reported that as result of the inspection carried out the previous week the places where rubbish is piled chronically had been inventoried. Certain steps have been taken to provide proper quantity of necessary equipment and machinery on the clean-up days. It was also reported that appropriate notifications had been sent to state structures, non-governmental organizations, economy entities and condominiums.
"We should be able to organize properly citywide clean-ups and attract both state and private sectors. Yerevan belongs to all of us and everybody must participate in the activities directed at cleanness of the city and yard areas", stressed Mayor Taron Margaryan.
Regarding landscaping and decorating activities planned in administrative districts including entries and squares it was reported that all the submitted proposals had been discussed with specialists and in accordance with confirmed dendroprojects decoration activities are to be started since April 1.
Everyday control is going on over preparations for obligatory improvement, sanitary cleaning and landscaping by owners or leasers in the areas surrounding their entities. The entities are also sent corresponding notifications with attached schemes.
"The improvement of the surrounding public areas is a decision confirmed by the Council of Elders of Yerevan and a contractual obligation. But we should be able to for a culture when every economy entity by its own initiative always takes care of the improvement of the area surrounding their objec", said Taron Margaryan.
The Mayor Instructed the Department of Control of the Municipality to carry out inspections in sport schools and health establishments subordinated to the Municipality.
It was also instructed to provide special advertisement boards at the porches of all blocks of flats in the capital. Simultaneously, it was instructed to place notice-boards for free advertisements in busy parts of the administrative districts.
