No Hazardous Food Products Allowed On Consumer Tables

Before proceeding to the agenda, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan spoke on food safety issues. “Stricter rules are being enacted. There will be no retreat in this field as we would never let hazardous cheese appear on the family table.”

Minister of Transport and Communications Gagik Beglaryan and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan reported back the status of their ministries’ fiscal liabilities and the existing growth potential.

The executive amended a previous decree to streamlines the drinking water supply and sanitation-related rules and regulations. The new decision seeks to simplify and better the provision of services to citizens amid improving business environment.

The government approved a set of amendments to the law “On energy” and the three other legal acts in a bid to provide startup businesses with better conditions by removing eight business procedures and considerably reducing the amount of paperwork and the deadlines.

The meeting approved another package of amendments to the law “On e-communication” and two other legal acts to call off three licenses required for commencing business activities in this field. The new arrangement will reduce the number of permits needed for assignment of radio frequencies, numbers, or codes.

The above bills had been drafted by the State Agency National Center for Legislative Regulation SE at the initiative of the Economic Legislation Reform Council.

“These three projects have been subject to heated debates. Now we should authorize Armen Yeghiazaryan to submit to the National Assembly the new legislative initiatives which seek to eliminate unnecessary barriers by means of the regulatory guillotine,” the Prime Minister stressed and told the speaker to present the first results to media outlets.

The government passed a decision on the funding of capital repairs at different sections of Arpa-Sevan tunnel due to low drinking water levels expected in November-January. Under the decision, AMD180million-worth rehabilitation activities will be implemented by this December 18 with the support of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund.

A previous decision has been called off to streamline urban development activities in Lake Sevan water basin.

The government decided to grant the “national” status to State Academic Choir of Armenia SNCO.

The following public offices have been instituted by the government: Military Adviser at the UN Mission of Armenia, Armed Forces Representative at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Armenia to the Collective Security Treaty Organization, military attaché at the Armenian embassies in Belarus and France.
