With the friendly match Armenia-Lithuania at the Republican stadium after Vazgen Sargsyan in Yerevan on November 14 Sargis Hovsepyan who had been the captain of the national team of Armenia took leave of the big football.
Within the frames of the solemn ceremony Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan awarded Sargis Hovsepyan with the gold medal of the Mayor of Yerevan for his significant contribution to football development in Armenia and active participation in the sport life of Yerevan.
Having played more than 130 matches as the captain of the national team Sargis Hovsepyan stayed on the pitch for only 5 minutes and then left the pitch under the applauds of football fans.
The players of the national team congratulated their captain in their own way beating the national team of Lithuania with the score 4:2.
