RA NA Delegation Takes Part in the Conference Held Within the Framework IPA CIS

At November 12 press conference the NA deputies Margarit Yesayan and Vahe Enfiajyan summed the results of the conference held in Saint Petersburg on November 8-9 within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA) of the CIS. The conference, where Margarit Yesayan also gave a speech, related to the “Role of Inter-Cultural Ties in the Development of Civil Society”. The representatives of the parliaments of all CIS member countries were attending the conference, excluding Azerbaijan, as well as spiritual leaders. A resolution comprised of 10 items, which referred to inter-cultural dialogue, maintenance of spiritual values of the CIS member countries' nations, mutual tolerance, honoring the peoples’ culture and history, as well as the role of inter-cultural ties in the development of the civil society’s development was adopted.
In her speech Margarit Yesayan particularly has touched upon the policy that today pursues Azerbaijan, how the latter annihilates the Armenian cultural centers, cemeteries. She has also touched upon the facts of destroying the gravestones and cross stones, as well as recently the Armenian Church in Turkey.
Vahe Enfiajyan said that the Armenian MPs had presented their concerns on barbarously destruction of the cultural values in the region. According ho him, the conference participants have agreed with the problems mentioned in the report by the Armenian side. In the deputy’s word, that report was one of the best examples of defending the Armenian side’s interests and its cultural values in different political platforms.
