Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Rainer Morel. Congratulating the newly appointed Ambassador on starting his diplomatic mission Taron Margaryan highly appreciated the Armenian- German relationship and stressed the importance of the embassies of the two countries in this issue.
"Within the frames of "Urban development cooperation" program the Municipality of Yerevan cooperates with German cities Hamburg and Halle Salle. I think there are perspectives for cooperation both in community development and educational, cultural, experience exchange and other spheres. I expect your active support in making the existing cooperation more practical and more strengthened", said the Mayor of Yerevan.
Ambassador Rainer Morel also expressed willingness to see the cooperation more inclusive.
"The high level of bilateral relations between Germany and Armenia is promising and includes various spheres. Partnership between cities is a very effective format", said Rainer Morel.
Mayor Taron Margaryan pointed out that the Municipality of Yerevan is ready to support and assist within its powers in all the projects which will promote expansion of bilateral ties between Yerevan and the cities of Germany.
