Within the framework of the regular visit to Malatia Sebastia district Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan together with the residents solemnly opened the regular new comfortable yards furnished with playing attractions. With the opening of these small recreation zones the number of the well-arranged yards in Yerevan has reached 400.
It’s notable that the residents of the building at Babajanyan 6 gladly responded the urge of Mayor Taron Margaryan and the new yard are put into operation was mainly built instead of the previously illegally occupied "kitchen gardens". "It’s important that the residents take their part in yard improvement. To have a well-arranged yard they eliminate the illegally occupied "kitchen gardens" themselves. There are even cases when they replace their garages willingly", said the Mayor.
Taron Margaryan walked about the yard, got acquainted with the work done, talked with the residents.
The residents of the yard expressed their delight to the Mayor pointing out that they had been waiting for many years for having a comfortable playground for their children and the recreation zone at the same time, and today their dream has become true. Within the framework of improvement the kerbs have been completely changed, the alleys have been paved, benches, bowers comfortable playing attractions for children have been installed. The yard of the buildings at Ohanov 66,68,70 in B-4 quarter has been built instead of previously illegally occupied “kitchen gardens” too. Instead of previously uncared area today we have a yard decorated in bright colours full of many playing children.
The yard improvement in Malatia Sebastia district was fulfilled both at the expenses of community means and with the participation of private investors and this is another good example of successful cooperation between the municipality and the private sector. "I would like to express gratitude to the member of the Council of Elders Arthur Petrosyan who living in this yard has taken part in the improvement process. The Municipality is always open and and willing to cooperate with all the organizations and individuals who want to have their contribution in the improvement of Yerevan", said Taron Margaryan.
In the yard at Ohanov 66,68,70 the Mayor also talked with the residents, heard out their opinions, raised problems and presented his approaches. Taron Margaryan stressed that within the framework of "Improved Yerevan" program initiated by the Municipality all the yards in Yerevan are to be well-arranged.
"Within the scope of proportional development of the capital we set a task to improve all the yards in Yerevan within the within a few years. Only this year we have improved 400 yards and handed them to residents. In the budget of 2013 we will also provide complex yard improvement activities. If at the beginning of the program our residents undervalued the finish of this work today they have been looking forward to the opening of the regular yard", stressed Mayor Taron Margaryan offering the residents to take part in the initiatives of the Municipality directed at making Yerevan more well-arranged and beautiful.
