Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was present at the final of the annual inter-yard football tournament in Malatia Sebastia district.
The prime time of the struggle between the teams of B-3 and Tserents was over without goals. The winner was determined after eleven-meter penalty kicks; the kicks of B-3 team were more well-aimed.
The sponsors of the tournament, the RA National Assembly delegates Samvel Alexanyan and Koryun Nahapetyan awarded the teams occupied 2nd and 3rd places, and the team won the 4th place was given encouraging awards by the head of the administrative district of Malatia Sebastia David Ohanyan.
Before awarding the winner mayor Taron Margaryan congratulated all the competitors and stressed that encouragement of yard football is the point from where the Armenian football is to start developing.
"I think you have already get sure that development of sport is one of our priorities, and with this aim we create mini-football pitches and hand them to residents wherever it’s possible in yard areas. Be sure that this attitude will be long-lasting and as a result we shall have a national team which will show more worhty playing in the international arena", said the Mayor.
Afterwards Mayor Taron Margaryan awarded the members of the winning team with gold medals and handed them the tournament cup.
