On October 5 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyna received Wolfgang Börnsen, Chairman of the Germany-South Caucasus Parliamentary Group of the FRG Bundestag.

In the course of the meeting issues concerning the Armenian-German relations and regional problems were discussed. Both sides highlighted the necessity of deepening of cooperation in all spheres, especially the contacts between the Friendship Groups of the two parliaments, noted with satisfaction the activation of inter-parliamentary mutual visits and contacts. They have also touched upon the programme “International Parliamentary Fellwoship,” which functions in Armenia since 1998 and has given its positive results. During these years numerous Armenian students have passed practice in Bundestag and the knowledge they have obtained they successfully use in different spheres. We’ll not that from the next year, according to the agreement of the Presidents of the two parliaments, the German students would be given opportunity to pass practice in the Armenian Parliament.

In the meeting other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
