The memorial board to Vahagn Davtyan has been opened

By the initiative of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and by the decision of the Council of Elders of Yerevan the memorial board to outstanding Armenian poet, academician, one of the founders of Arabkir district Vahagn Davtyan was opened at Nairi Zaryan 80 in the administrative district of Arabkir.Repatriating in 1932 the poet lived in Yerevan in Arabkir district and in 1952-1996 Vahagn Davtyan lived and worked in this house on which the board informing of it has been placed. The author of the memorial board is sculptor Levon Tokmajyan.The Vice-Chair of the RA NA Hermine Naghdalyan, the head of Arbakir district Hrayr Antonyan, members of the Council of Elders, as well as intellectuals, public figures and politicians were present at the solemn ceremony of opening.The Chairman of the Union of Writers Levon Ananyan on behalf of the writers and intellectuals congratulated and thanked for the initiative pointing out that the attention and care shown by the mayor at present is important for generations’ upbringing, preserving and spreading the national values.Those presents also visited the park named after Vahagn Davtyan and put flowers at the monument to the poet.
