 The issues related to the program of "Sustainable Urban Development" were discussed during the meeting of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan with the representatives of Asian Development Bank. The program refers to the construction of two road segments in Yerevan particularly to the construction of directions from Argavand transport junction to Shirak street and from Arshakunyants-Shirak streets to Artashat highway which are aimed at Yerevan transport system improvement.Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that to improve the quality of the program management some structural changes had been made by his instruction in the Program Management Office. "During the previous meeting I stressed the importance of starting realization of the program as soon as possible and I'd like to re-state its importance once again. I can assure that we are ready for long-lasting cooperation", said Taron Margaryan.The head of Central and West Asia Department of Urban Development and Water of the Asian Development Bank Anand Chiplanker expressed gratitude to the Mayor for the assistance shown within the program and noted that the working groups of the bank and the Municipality carry out intensive work and regular reports on the program implementation are to be submitted to the Mayor. "We do our best so that the advisory companies won in international competition to be held in September could start working as soon as possible", said Anand Chiplanker. The parties showed mutual willingness to find operative solutions to the current problems of the program realization.
