Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentina to Armenia Diego Ernesto Alvares Rivera. Stressing the present high level of relationship between Armenia and Argentina the Mayor presented the perspectives of the capital's development and noted that there are a lot of perspectives for expansion of relationship between Yerevan and the cities of Argentina."Since 2000 Yerevan and Buenos-Aires have been sister cities. Meeting the Mayor of Buenos Aires within the scope of celebrations of declaration Yerevan World Book Capital 2012 we created good grounds for strengthening and developing cooperation. In a token of our friendship the central park in the administrative district of Achapnyak is being reconstructed to be called after Buenos Aires. This park will become the small center of the district", said Taron Margaryan simultaneously stressing the importance of active participation of the ambassadors of the two countries in cooperation expansion.The Ambassador thanked the Mayor for the reception and expressed hope that within the framework of his mission efficient cooperation with the Municipality would be developed.
Taron Margaryan assured that the Municipality of Yerevan is always willing to support implementation of mutually beneficial programs within its powers and expects cooperation in different spheres, particularly, in experience exchange in all the directions of urban economy management and other programs.
