Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the Mayoress of Halle

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the Mayoress of Halle, German Mrs. Dagmar Szabados. Greeting the guest Taron Margaryan first of all expressed gratitude for having accepted the invitation to visit Yerevan, then introduced in brief the history of the capital and the infrastructures of the city authorities.
"Now we are cooperating with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) within the framework of “Community Development in the South Caucasus” program. The Municipality of Yerevan is interested in establishment of relationship with German cities. I am confident that due to joint work we can find spheres of mutual interest for establishment of bilateral cooperation. Today Yerevan has a favourable environment for investment programs’ implementation", said Taron Margaryan pointing out that the Municipality of Yerevan is open for cooperation.Expressing gratitude for warm welcome Mrs. Dagmar Szabados presenting the way passed by Halle expressed hope that the partnership between the cities will be a developing cooperation based on friendly grounds and invited the Mayor to visit Halle and fix in document the start of partnership. The Mayoress of Halle congratulated Taron Margaryan on the event of declaring Yerevan World Book Capital by the UNESCO and pointed out that within that scope an exhibition dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Armenian Book Printing was opened in Halle on April 15.Accepting the congratulations the Mayor noted that the Armenian language has been teaching at the faculty of oriental studies of Halle University for more than 300 years, as well as joint scientific programs are being implemented with Matenadaran and the National Academy of Science.At the end of the meeting Mayor Taron Margaryan suggested as a start to arrange mutual visits of specialists, to get acquainted with the systems of management and the programs of the two municipalities.
