The rating of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has noticeably increased as compared with the 2007, spokesman for the Republican Party of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov told the reporters March 22. According to the poll conducted by the European Friends of Armenia the rating has grown up in case when there was no propaganda, electoral fight and the elections will take place next year. "It means trust toward Sargsyan has increased. He is considered an experienced figure and the 33% is ready to give their votes to him," Sharmazanov said.
He noted that according to the same poll the RPA has serious firm position. "The public tie their hopes connected with foreign policy, education sphere, Nagorno Karabakh conflict with the reforms implemented by the RPA. The votes of the RPA are increasing gradually and it has the biggest chance to end the electoral marathon as a favorite. We are not going to choose the path of stagnation," Sharmazanov said.
He said irrespective of who will participate in the propaganda it will implement Armenia''s legislation appropriately. "Our goal is not to gather more votes but raise trust among the people. All the grounds exist for organizing democratic elections, but the opposition must also adopt right fighting style," Sharmazanov said.
