Today in Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall RPA Women Council and Yerevan Municipality General Education Department arranged an event dedicated to Derenik Demirchyan’s 135th anniversary.
The pupils of Yerevan school N27 named after D. Demirchyan and students of «Vardanank» educational complex presented a performance which was created after merging «Vardanak» and «The Armenian» essays. This performance was aimed at teaching young children to recognize and love their people and the country.
The event was attended by the Chairman of RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Mr. Artak Davtyan, Chairman of RPA Women Council, RA NA member Ms. Hermine Naghdalyan, Head of the Yerevan Municipality General Education Department Ms. Gayane Soghomonyan, member of Yerevan Municipality Council of Elders Ms. Naira Nahapetyan, other members of RPA Women Council and guests.
With the support of Ms. Nahapetyan, Derenik Demirchyan House-Museum received a computer and a printer.
Ms. Naghdalyan delivered her welcome address. She mentioned that RPA Women Council jointly with Yerevan Municipality General Education Department came with an initiative to name the park, which is located opposite the writer’s house-museum, after D. Demirchyan and also to set there his monument. The City Hall has already expressed its positive attitude about this initiative. The head of Derenik Demirchyan’s house-museum Karine Rafaelyan expressed her gratitude in her speech delivered during the event.
