Mayor Taron Margaryan awards winners of citywide memorial chess tournament

With the assistance of Yerevan Mayor, the president of Yerevan Chess Federation Taron Margaryan, the citywide memorial chess tournament between schoolchildren dedicated to the Olympic chess champion, international grand master Karen Asryan has been held in the capital for the third time.
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, the vice-president of the Armenian Chess Federation Smbat Lputyan as well as Karen Asryan’s parents were present at the ceremony of closing of the tournament held in Yerevan school N 171.
The first place in the memorial tournament was occupied by the team of Malatia Sebastia district, the second and third places were occupied by the teams of Nor Nork and Arabkir respectively. The winner teams were awarded with thanksgiving diplomas of Yerevan Chess Federation. The team of Malatia Sebastia won in the tournament were handed the cup and medals by Yerevan Mayor, the president of Yerevan Chess Federation Taron Margaryan who also wished them success and new achievements.
It should be noted that 48 schoolchildren representing 12 administrative districts of Yerevan took part in the citywide memorial chess tournament dedicated to Karen Asryan. Young chess players are the pupils of the chess schools of administrative districts.
