Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan together with the RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Davit Lokyan took part in the ceremony of opening of the general meeting of the members of the Union of Communities of Armenia.
Greeting speech was made by the RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Development, the chairman of the Union of Communities of RA Emin Yeritsyan, by the head of the department of cooperation and foreign relations of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe Maria Ochoa-Llido.
Within the frames of the general meeting the reports on the activity and working programs of the Union for the last 5 years, amendments and additions made to the Regulations of the Union will be presented, and the Regulations will be confirmed by the participants of the general meeting.
The strategy for 2016-2020, the working programs for 2017 will be presented as well. It is also planned to hold elections for the Chairman of the Union of Communities and for the staff of the Republican council.
