Mayor Taron Margaryan welcomes American jazz singer Di Di Bridgewater

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan welcomed the world-famous jazz singer Di Di Bridgewater who arrived in Yerevan to take part in “Yerevan Jazz Fest 2016”. Greeting the guest and appreciating the role of the singer in jazz popularization Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that Yerevan has its jazz traditions too and they are highly appreciated worldwide.
“Since 2012, on April 30 we have marked International Jazz Day. By the way, Yerevan was one of the first cities to mark this day officially. This fact proves that jazz is very popular in our city. Every year Yerevan welcomes numerous famous jazzmen who together with their Armenian colleagues perform splendid concerts turning the International Jazz Day into a real holiday. I am sure that today's concert will be held at the highest level and you will feel the warmth Armenian audience have for eminent jazz figures” said the Mayor of Yerevan.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome to the Mayor of Yerevan Di Di Bridgewater shared her impressions of Yerevan outlining that Yerevan and Armenian culture in general inspired her and gave new creative ideas.
“Mister Mayor, I am really fascinated with the warmth and beauty of Yerevan. It's so nice to be in an ancient city which has almost 3000-year old history. I have felt the warm attitude of townspeople and I am sure that I will feel even more during today's concert. I must admit that Yerevan has become a source of inspiration for me, gave me new creative ideas which will certainly be reflected in my new works”, said Di Di Bridgewater.
