Municipal schools are ready for the new academic year

During the regular working meeting in the City Hall which was chaired by Mayor Taron Margaryan it was reported that all the preparations for the new academic year in municipal schools and after-school establishments had been mainly finished.
Energy, gas and water supply systems in educational establishments have been studied and appropriate measures were taken to eliminate revealed defects. Marking of the crossroads adjacent to schools and bringing the road signs to order have been finished too. The head of Health Department reported that the medical posts in these establishments had already been supplied with all necessary medicine and first aid items.
The head of General Education Department reported that corresponding steps had been taken to provide all the pupils of elementary school with free school books. Besides, it was reported that repairing and furnishing of school canteens had been mainly finished jointly with catering organizations. Referring to proper organization of the First School Bell event in schools Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed the municipal departments of Control and General Education to supervise the process and to prevent any cases of money collection connected with the event.
“The events to be held on the event of the new academic year are certainly important and welcomed, however extra costs are unpermitted. So, warn the school headmasters to avoid additional luxuries and to keep a watchful eye so as to meet our requirement to forbid it. Everything should be in a modest manner so that not to cause additional costs for the residents”, stressed the Mayor and warned that the violators would be punished.
During the meeting Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed the persons in charge to organize a month of free traffic from September 1 to 30 jointly with the road police setting strengthened control in the areas adjacent to schools to ensure children's safety. Taking into account the highly heavy work of the transport particularly in the beginning of September it was instructed to take appropriate steps to ensure proper work of public transport.
