Yerevan Mayor met with the representatives of the Asian Development Bank

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the delegation headed by the Alternate Director of the Asian Development Bank Mario Di Maio. Greeting the guests Yerevan Mayor outlined the importance of cooperation with the Asian Development Bank and noted that it had been effective particularly in recent years. Stressing the significance of road construction programs in Yerevan, including the roads passing by the center of the capital Taron Margaryan said that the motorways being constructed within the frames of Sustainable Urban Development Investment Program financed by the Asian Development Bank is very important for traffic relief of Yerevan center.
“As a result of successful cooperation today we have visible achievements which are highly important for traffic regulation in Yerevan. I can assure that within our powers we will do everything to accomplish all the programs. We express our willingness to cooperate with Asian Development Bank in other spheres of urban economy as well”, said the Mayor.
Expressing gratitude for warm reception the ADB Alternate Director Mario Di Maio expressed satisfaction with the process of the program implementation and with the current results stressing that the Municipality is really a reliable partner for the bank.
“Mister Mayor, I visited the building site of the new motorway in person and I must admit that significant work has been done. I assure you that it’s a pleasure for us to work with an establishment which is ready to realize all set programs consistently. All the projects realized by joint efforts of our teams can serve a model. Be sure that in my turn I’ll do my best so that we will expand our cooperation and involve new spheres”, said Mario Di Maio.
During the meeting the parties exchanged thoughts about possible cooperation development in various spheres of urban development.
