 The President of the Republic of Armenia, the Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan attended the ceremony of handing party membership cards to over 250 young people on 18 September before the Session of the RPA Executive Body at the RPA Central Office. Only during the summer over 500 young people became members of RPA Youth organization.
Congratulating the young people, Head of RPA attached importance to their role in the country and noted that the future of Armenia is in the hands of the young people present and their agemаtеs. Serzh Sargsyan spoke about the achievements of today’s youth and the courage of boys keeping our borders and added that success can be achieved through active political activity, diligence and knowledge. Nowadays the idea of being a member to a party has been distorted, emphasizing that people join this or that political force in order to get positions. “I am confident that gradually this negative side will vanish and people will join political forces in order to live in a better country”. There is no better path to develop a country, than try to achieve success through competition among political forces” noted the President.
The Head of RPA Youth Organization, Member of the RPA Executive Body Karen Avagyan noted that during this summer a lot of applications were received but party membership cards are given only to those who are familiar with RPA history, ideology, programs and want to take part in their implementation.
“Besides current programs implemented by RPA Youth Organization, it is also important to have new members of the party. I am glad that we could establish such an organization that has a trust among the youth, who believe us and want to pass it with us” said Karen Avagyan.
