Mayor Taron Margaryan met with his colleague from Kishinev

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the Mayor of Kishinev Doorin Kirtoake who visited Yerevan to take part in the meeting of the bureau “Conference of the Regional and Local Authorities of the Eastern Partnership and in “Local Democracy in the Eastern Partnership Countries” conference to be held in Yerevan on September 18 and 19. Greeting the guest Mayor Taron Margaryan presented in brief his approaches and priorities in Yerevan management, outlined the spheres where Yerevan Municipality develops effective interaction with sister and partner cities. Taron Margaryan noted that the visit of his colleague from Kishinev is a good opportunity to expand partnership between the two sister-cities.
“Yerevan Municipality is always open for cooperation. Within our powers we are ready to assist in the implementation of mutually beneficial projects in various spheres of the city economy management and in the activation of bilateral cooperation. I am sure that Yerevan and Kishinev have wide perspectives for cooperation in various spheres of urban economy and experience exchange in management”, stressed Taron Margaryan. Expressing gratitude for warm welcome Kishinev Mayor Doorin Kirtoake in his turn stressed the importance of development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the cities and assured that he would do his best to make the cooperation between the two cities tighter and more practical in a short time. “There are many points for cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest and I assure you, Mister Mayor, that I will do my best to develop our partnership. In fact, the problems in cities are similar and it’s natural that similar approaches are used to solve them. So, I am sure we will find the solutions as a result of teamwork”, said Doorin Kirtoake. At the end of the meeting Taron Margaryan invited his Kishinev colleague to visit Yerevan in October if possible to take part in “Erebuni-Yerevan” celebration. Taking the opportunity Doorin Kirtoake in his turn invited Yerevan Mayor to Kishinev to pay an official visit.
