PM Receives Microsoft Regional Director Don Grantham

 Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received a delegation led by Microsoft Corporation’s Central and Eastern Europe Regional Director Don Grantham.

Appreciating the Government’s continued cooperation with Microsoft, the Prime Minister said they are ready to further develop and deepen bilateral cooperation. Hovik Abrahamyan noted that the memorandum signed between the Armenian government and Microsoft last May has given a new impetus to bilateral ties, providing a solid basis for the development of new and more effective programs.

Noting that IT companies are operating quite successful in our country, the Premier said they have enhanced Armenia’s competitiveness in the world’s most developed markets. The Head of Government praised Microsoft’s assistance, which is carried out through its innovation center in Armenia and continued implementation of new initiatives. In this context, he stressed the need to follow up on the new initiatives.

Pleased with the progress in bilateral cooperation, Don Grantham thanked the Prime Minister for support of various projects. At the same time, he hailed the Government’s efforts aimed at developing the IT sector in Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ways of implementing new joint projects, protecting intellectual property and fighting against cyber crime. In this context, the Premier stressed the importance of Microsoft’s active cooperation with the Armenian Ministry of Defense towards improving the country’s defense system.
