А two-day program on the Eastern Partnership has been lately held in the capital of Belgium Brussels. It was organized by the Robert Schuman Institute and the Group of the European Peoples Party. About 13 young people from Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia participated in the program. Anna Mkrthchyan represented the RPA Youth Organization.
On the first day of the program young people participated in several meetings and discussions, met with several members of the European Parliament and advisers of the Group of the European Peoples Party. They discussed the EPP legislative coordination, followed by meetings on the structure, policy of EPP Group, decision making mechanism, individual works done by the EPP with the member countries of the Eastern Partnership, opportunities of Euronest, international relations etc.
Then the young people attended the meeting of the EP Working Group of the Budgetary Affairs and Strategic Policy. At the end of the day the participants got acquainted with the functions of the members of the European Parliament and possible ways of becoming a member of the European Parliament.
The second and the last day of the program started with discussions on the perspectives of cooperation between the countries of the Eastern Partnership, as well as reforms and the role of the law. In co-operation it was emphasized the role of the EPP Group Press.
Othmar Karas, the Member of the EP, the President of Robert Schuman Institute represented a final assessment of requirements for the parliaments of the EPP sister parties. At the end of the program the results of the discussions were summed up, the participants were awarded certificates.
