Galust Sahakyan receives the Delegation of Socialist Group of the French National Assembly

 On September 3 the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan received the delegation led by Bruno Le Roux, Head of the Socialist Group in the French National Assembly.
Welcoming the delegation members in the parliament, the RA NA President has noted that a year has passed since the previous visit, and during it the Armenian-French interparliamentary relations has further intensified. Touching upon the deepening of the Armenian-French interstate relations, Galust Sahakyan highlighted the mutual visits of the Presidents of the two states, including 24 April 2015 official visit of the delegation led by the French President Francois Hollande to Armenia . Speaking about his visit to France , the NA President confirmed his invitation to Claude Bartolone, NA President of the Republic of France .
The NA President, highly appreciating the friendship groups’ efficient activity, underscored the great contribution of the heads of the friendship groups to the development of interparliamentary relations between friendly countries.
Touching upon Azerbaijan ’s anxiety-provoking and intolerant behaviour, Galust Sahayan has mentioned that it is necessary that the PACE initiate real steps for preventing that state’s audacious and undemocratic practices.
Extending his words of gratitude to Bruno Le Roux, the apologist of the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, The NA President expressed hope that the French Parliament will be consistent in submitting and adopting the new bill.
Touching upon the delegation’s coming visit to Karabakh, Galust Sahakyna has stated that he spotlights every such visit as each delegation or individual visiting Nagorno Karabakh has an opportunity to witness the lifestyle of the people who has fought for its independence and has gained the freedom of life. According to the NA Speaker’s word, regardless the fact of being recognized or not, the people of Artsakh has gained its freedom of life and shouldn’t be disregarded by the international community.
The Head of the Socialist Group in the French National Assembly Bruno Le Roux, thanking the National Assembly Speaker for the reception, has mentioned that France-Armenia relations have become stronger. Spotlighting French President Francois Hollande’s visit to Atmenia on 24 April 2015, Bruno Le Roux has documented that his country’s president has consistently confirmed French commitment to the condemnation of the Genocide.
Touching upon the delegation’s visit to Nagorno Karabakh, the Head of the Delegation has noted that their goal is to contact with the Karabakh people on the spot and reaffirm the idea that the people living there has the right to peaceful life. Bruno Le Roux has noted that the delegation members are aware of the situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and has recorded that the violations of the ceasefire regime are inadmissible for the international community.
Speaking about the visit to Armenia and Artsakh, he has mentioned that democracy, human rights, fundamental freedoms should be highlighted both in Armenia and Artsakh on the contrary to the neighbouring country where democracy is weak.
Touching upon the France-Armenia relations, Bruno Le Roux has documented that they should be deepened at the level of the Standing Committees of the parliaments of the friendly countries.
