PRESIDENT SERZH SARGSYAN RECEIVES DELEGATION OF FRENCH PARLIAMENTARIANS

President Serzh Sargsyan today received the delegation headed by President of the Socialist Group at the French National Assembly Bruno Le Roux.
The President welcomed the guests, stating that it was gratifying to host again Mr. Le Roux and a delegation of numerous parliamentarians after a meeting, held a year ago in Yerevan and he was also happy to meet deputies that arrived in Armenia for the first time.
At the meeting the interlocutors jointly attached importance to the frequent visits and contacts on various levels that, according to them, strengthen the Armenian-French relations even more and provide a good opportunity to discuss issues of mutual interest in sincere environment.
“In case of France such meetings have entered into a tradition: during the previous year three large parliamentary delegations arrived in Armenia, some of them also in Nagorno Karabakh. Generally, the Armenian-French special relations have risen to a new level during the recent years, progressing on an upward trajectory in all the fields”, President Serzh Sargsyan stated with satisfaction.
The partakers of the meeting agreed that the interparliamentary cooperation was an essential component of the reinforcement of interstate relations and that the Armenian –French parliamentary friendship groups had significant contribution in the development thereof.
Deputy Bruno Le Roux conveyed the greetings of President Hollande to President Serzh Sargsyan. He also stated with satisfaction that the frequent bilateral meetings on different levels were always distinguished with high productivity, setting new spheres of cooperation from one meeting to another.
The French deputies attached importance to the visits to Nagorno Karabakh, underscoring that as parliamentarians they had a duty and direct obligation to get familiarized with the situation on the field, communicate with the people and convey their impressions and what they had seen and heard to their colleagues.
According to them France is interested in the continuous dialogue on the NK conflict resolution and the process towards the establishment of peace and that their visits to Nagorno Karabakh also serve that end.
At the meeting the guest asked the President to concisely present the process of the Constitutional Reforms in the RA and the aim thereof.
Bruno Le Roux underlined that he believed that any constructive reform aimed at putting into practice the best system of governance which enjoyed the approval of the citizens, was merely praiseworthy. He also added that if a state starts reforms of the system of the governance, it is an evidence of the political maturity thereof.
