THE NEWLY-APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF PERU TO THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA HASHANDED OVER HIS CREDENTIALS TO PRESIDENT SERZH SARGSYAN

Humberto Umeres Alvarez, the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the Republic of Armenia (residence in Moscow), has today handed over his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.
The president congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in fulfilling his diplomatic duties in our country. Serzh Sargsyan stressed that Armenia attaches importance to the deepening of relations with South American countries, including Peru. He expressed the hope that during his tenure the Peruvian first ambassador will lay solid ground for bringing interstate ties between the two countries to a qualitatively new level.
Ambassador Alvarez assured that during his tenure he will work with sincere devotion towards developing relations between Armenia and Peru as well as fulfilling the existing potential of multifaceted collaboration.
The interlocutors agreed that the development of necessary legal framework will contribute to the deepening and widening of Armenian-Peruvian ties. Within the context of enhancing the political dialogue they mutually attached importance to the appropriate steps to be undertaken towards the development of interparliamentary ties.
President Serzh Sargsyan and Ambassador Humberto Alvarez also exchanged views on the cooperation between the two countries within the framework of various integration processes. The interlocutors expressed satisfaction on the cooperation between Armenia and Peru within different international organizations.
During the meeting the parties also touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
