Galust Sahakyan Receives the Newly Appointed Ambassador of Germany to Armenia

On August 3 the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan received Bernhard Matthias Kiesler, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Armenia.
Welcoming the newly appointed Ambassador in the RA National Assembly Galust Sahakyan congratulated him on the occasion of his appointment and wished him fruitful activity in Armenia.
The NA President expressed hope that during his tenure the Armenian-German relations, especially the inter-parliamentary ties, would be more strengthened. He noted that during the recent years the relations of the Friendship Groups functioning in the parliaments of the two countries had been enlivened and the mutual visits had become frequent. The RA NA President highly assessed the balanced approach of Germany on the regional problems relating to our country. Touching upon the Armenian-German cooperation, Galust Sahakyan has stated that the Armenian youngsters and young people take part in the German educational programmes, pay mutual visits, and this year the RA National Assembly also is ready to receive two students from Germany.
The RA NA President expressed his support to Bernhard Matthias Kiesler in the programmes to be implemented in Armenia by the Embassy.
Bernhard Matthias Kiesler noted that during the years friendly, close relations were formed between Armenia and Germany, especially in the parliamentary cooperation.
The Ambassador has stated that he has big experience in the sphere of economic cooperation and has assured that during his tenure he will seek to use the potential which exists between the two countries. Referring to the foreign policy of the Republic of Armenia, Bernhard Matthias Kiesler noted that Germany would be glad if our country could improve its relations with all neighbouring countries.
At the end of the meeting the interlocutors also talked about the constitutional reforms going on in Armenia.
