 Within the frames of the citywide tree planting announced for April 11 Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan together with the representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia planted trees in the forest zone adjacent to the memorial complex “Tsitsernakaberd” It should be noted that the Municipality of Yerevan has completely improved the area surrounding the memorial complex. Answering the questions of the journalists Taron Margaryan thanked the representatives of the diplomatic corpus for active participation in the citywide tree planting.
“Participation of the representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia in citywide tree planting has become a good tradition and taking the opportunity I’d like to thank you for being side by side with us. At the threshold of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, together with the ambassadors we planted trees at the slope of the memorial complex “Tsitsernakaberd”, noted Taron Margaryan.
The ambassadors accredited in Armenia in their turn greeted the initiative and noted that it is important not only from the point of view of environment protection but also for strengthening the friendship between people. They also stressed the importance of the location selected for tree planting. The forest zone adjacent to the memorial complex “Tsitsernakaberd” has been replenished with 500 saplings.
