 It is the fourth year that the solemn ceremony of taking an oath by young land defenders Yerkrapah has taken place on the birthday of Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan, on March 5. This year, at the threshold of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide the ceremony of taking an oath by 10000 young land defenders from Yerevan, Artsakh and the RA marzes has been held at Tsitsernakaberd hill. The President of the RA NA Galust Sahakyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, the RA Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan, President of the Yerkrapah Volunteers Union Manvel Grigoryan, other officials and numerous land defenders were present at the solemn ceremony.
The event was followed by the performance of young yerkrapahs and the parade afterwards.
Then Mayor Taron Margaryan together with YVU President Manvel Grigoryan and young land defenders visited the Memorial of Tsitsernakaberd, put flowers at the Eternal Fire to tribute to the memory of the victims of the Genocide.
