Galust Sahakyan’s New Year Congratulatory Address
30.12.2014
Dear compatriots,
Once again we are at the borderline of the old and new years, on the one side of which is the estimation of the newest past becoming a history, and on the other side the new expectations.
The year of 2014 was one more phase of trials, experience and achievements for our multi-experienced people and the third Republic of Armenia. It once again certified that our victories are continuous and not only at the battlefield.
In 2014 the state strived at the most to combine opportunities and wishes, and the society sought to realize to the maximum its civil rights and fundamental freedoms. It is very important that everybody’s actions had been aimed at the one and the same: competitive state and developed society, strengthening of the country and improvement of the people’s life standards. These were the goals that were within our view, including on the agenda of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. That agenda will not lose its urgency also in 2015.
Dear compatriots,
The year of 2015 sees the 25th anniversary of the Declaration of Armenia’s independence, a Declaration that the Armenian Parliament has adopted in the name of the whole people. During this period we have proved that the self-sovereignty is a meaningful lifestyle for us. And today nobody among us has the right even to cast a doubt on his/her retrospective glance, moreover in case of looking forward. We should not only doubt, but walk reinforcing our country with united forces, hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder with the citizens of the Armenian second state, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, with our compatriots of Diaspora, never being separated, non-betraying participants of our bother and joy.
The year of 2015 also marks one century of the Armenian Genocide. We should be more united and consolidated in order as a state and people becoming more powerful we succeed to reach the restoration of the historical justice from more influential positions. As a nation we can succeed in case when we are more respectful, tolerant and patient, caring and responsive towards each other, we live without malice and animosity.
Dear compatriots,
I congratulate you all on the occasion of the upcoming holidays, New Year and Holy Nativity, I congratulate also those, who being or inhabiting outside Armenia, never forget about the Motherland.
I cordially wish each of you to make success, that in every family be welfare and warmth, that joy always visit your homes. Let 2015 bring success, love, mutual understanding and numerous happy days to our people.
Happy New Year and Holy Nativity!
